All Non-foiling Courses

The RYA Windsurfing Non-Foiling Courses provide a structured learning pathway for those looking to develop their windsurfing skills without transitioning to foiling. These courses, part of the RYA Windsurfing Scheme, cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced riders, ensuring safe, controlled, and enjoyable progression on the water.

The RYA Start Windsurfing Course introduces the fundamentals, including board balance, sail control, and steering. It focuses on building confidence and developing core techniques to sail independently.

The RYA Intermediate Windsurfing Course is split into two stages: Non-Planing and Planing. The Non-Planing stage refines stance, turns, and harness use, while the Planing stage introduces techniques for handling stronger winds, faster sailing, and using footstraps.

For advanced windsurfers, the RYA Advanced Windsurfing Course covers carve gybing, improved sail trim, and higher wind control.

Taught at RYA-recognised centres, these courses provide expert instruction, helping windsurfers develop skills for recreational and competitive sailing.
