Course Overview

The RYA Intermediate Windsurfing course bridges the gap between beginner and advanced skills. Participants learn techniques for improving speed, balance, and transitions in moderate conditions. The course introduces planing and teaches windsurfers how to optimize their stance and sail trim. By the end, participants will feel confident handling more dynamic conditions and progressing toward advanced windsurfing courses.

Fundamentals

Course Content

Your instructor will build your confidence on the water, coach you through more fluid transitions and introduce new techniques such as beach starting and using a harness.

Minimum Age
None (although under 16s may prefer to learn through the Youth Windsurfing Scheme)

Minimum Duration
8-10 hours delivered over a number of sessions or full days.

Certificate Issuing Criteria

Able to sail on all points of sailing in stronger winds, using beach starts and faster tacking and gybing.
