About this course

The RYA Youth Windsurfing Stage 4 course is the final stage of the youth windsurfing progression. It focuses on high-performance techniques, including maintaining control in stronger winds and executing advanced maneuvers like carve gybing. The course emphasizes safety, precision, and self-reliance, preparing young windsurfers for competitive or recreational challenges.

Course fundamentals

Duration8-10 hours, delivered over a number of short sessions or full days.
Course contentStage 4 builds on a confident ability to tack, gybe and windsurf in the harness, introducing you to the basic techniques needed to use the foot straps.
Certificate or qualificationYou should be able to confidently windsurf around using the harness, know when to tack and gybe, and show the basic ability to get blasting using the foot straps.
