All Keelboat Courses

The RYA Keelboat Courses provide a structured learning pathway for sailors who prefer the stability and performance of keelboats over dinghies. Part of the RYA National Sailing Scheme, these courses cater to all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced sailors looking to refine their techniques.

For newcomers, Start Sailing (Level 1) introduces the basics of keelboat handling, rigging, and essential safety skills. Basic Skills (Level 2) builds confidence and independence, teaching sailors how to manoeuvre and sail efficiently.

Intermediate courses, such as Better Sailing (Level 3), focus on refining boat control, while specialist courses cover spinnaker handling, seamanship skills, and day sailing. Advanced sailors can progress to Performance Sailing, learning techniques to optimise speed and handling.
